Darleny Mendoza’s Senior Thesis Muévete Jevi is a fusion of Latin X and Caribbean styles of dancing including Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata, Dembow, Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Jersey Club. We invite you to be immersed in a world of rhythm, intensive energy, and contagious movement complimented by empowering graphic designs.

A Night In

Three dance majors will present their thesis concert A Night In. The evening will be shared by Chloe Zinn ‘22, Oliver Buzzard ‘22.5, and Maia Sauer ‘22. They will present original dance work in an evening of storytelling, meditation, and celebration.

Content Warning: One of the dance pieces includes nudity.

Full vaccinations and boosters (or valid medical or religious exemptions) and masks required.

If you have symptoms, or have been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 5 days, you may not attend arts events.

Designed to ignite self sensation and learn about one’s own creative intuition, imaginative prompts lead the body to move through rigor and ease in a dynamic flow. Connection to sound and relation to space play a role in engaging with ephemeral moments.

Movement Matters Tori Lawrence

The Middlebury Dance Program’s 2019-20 Artist-in-Residence Tori Lawrence will present an evening of her recent analog and digital dance film projects, including work that she made with Middlebury students. Lawrence’s environmentally-based work inspires an imaginative and sustainable way of looking at, thinking about, and using space.
