A ‘Mapathon” is a coordinated mapping event that addresses a a lack of geospatial data and works to produce a valuable open source database. No GiS/Mapping experience necessary! Come anytime; stay for as long as you want! Snacks will be provided!

Dr. Peter Kedron (Oklahoma State) will present on geographic and cognitive spaces and networks of innovation Renewable energy sources are expected to reduce dependence on conventional energy and, in the process, alter the regional organization of energy production to the benefit of society. Supported by policy, renewable energy industries continue to develop throughout the United States. However, renewable energy production is not developing independent of the existing economic system.

Join Sam Libby, 2010 Middlebury graduate in Geography for his talk and discussion entitled Navigating the GIS Landscape – Opportunities in the Field of Geospatial Technologies. Sam works as a Technical Advisor at ESRI. There will be lots of time for discussion and questions and an opportunity to talk afterwards about internship possibilities.
