The 2017 Summer Carillon Concert season features a fine group of musicians, performing from the soaring tower of Mead Chapel. The melodic sounds of the carillon bells are a staple of summer life on the Middlebury campus.  Free.

This fourth annual event features original prose and poetry from the New England Review literary magazine, read aloud by Middlebury College students from Oratory Now. Stay for the “s’more readings” reception with contributions from student magazines. Free

On May 5th, when night falls, art will take over—dance, film, drawing, painting, theater, music, poetry, sculpture, circus, lights, food and projects that defy categorization will come together on Middlebury’s campus for an immersive, night-long celebration of student art. Featuring work by over 90 students.

Raise a toast to the end of the 25th anniversary season at this celebration with food, drink, and music associated with performances in each of the MCA’s three venues: Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista in Robison Hall; Senior Thesis Dance Concert in the Dance Theatre; a special event in the Seeler Studio Theatre. Watch for details and specific times later in the spring. Tickets required for the performances; reception is free.

Stuver has worked with BANDALOOP—a pioneer in vertical dance—for nearly two decades, touring worldwide. As a dancer, he has also performed his own work and with other companies in Dublin, Berlin, New York, and San Francisco. He currently works as a writer and puppeteer in LA. Stuver’s talk will focus on his professional journey, and how being open to other, possibly unexpected, disciplines, forms, and experiences has shaped his career path. 

Join professor emeritus and architectural historian Glenn Andres for a public talk about the concepts, details, and secrets of the Mahaney Center for the Arts in honor of its 25th anniversary. Opened in 1992 and designed by Hardy Holzman Pfeifer Associates, the MCA is home to three performance venues, four academic departments, the museum, and Rehearsals Café. Inspired by the popular storytelling phenomenon The Moth, Cocoon is a special evening of true stories told live without notes. This fifth annual community-wide event is produced by the creators of the Middlebury Moth-UP in partnership with the Mahaney Center for the Arts. A reception with the storytellers follows. Tickets: $15/12/6

This one hour training program will certify an individual as a Crowd Manager for a three year period. A certified Crowd Manager is required for any event where the assembled capacity exceeds 50 or more people.
