Steven Sondheim is regarded as one of the best Musical Theatre makers of our time. In celebration of his life, the Musical Theatre Club will be meeting to discuss all things Sondheim – favorite shows, songs that moved us, and personal experiences with his work. Big Fish - This is a  story of the complicated relationship between Edward Bloom and his adult-son, Will. The story shifts between two timelines. In the present-day real world, sixty-year-old Edward Bloom faces his mortality while Will prepares to become a father himself. In the storybook past, Edward ages from a teenager, encountering a Witch, a Giant, a Mermaid, and the love of his life, Sandra. The stories meet as Will discovers the secret his father never revealed.

The Middlebury College Musical Theatre club will be hosting auditions for our Spring Musical on Sunday, November 21st from 10am–12pm and Monday, November 22nd from 7–9pm. At the meeting, interested students can meet the director to learn what the show will be and how to audition. Bring sheet music and we’ll help you decide on a cut! If you do not know what to sing, we’ll help you find a song.
