Champions from Atwater, Brainerd, Cook, Ross, and Wonnacott Commons square off in the annual Spencer Prize in Oratory for First-Year Students. In this semifinal round for Middlebury’s speech competition dating back to 1825, twelve students will compete for the chance to advance to the April 16 Grand Championship, where the Middlebury College Speaker of the Year will be crowned and awarded a top prize of $500.
