Movie Screening and Q&A with Director: "Israelism"

To kick of SJP this year, we are screening the new film ‘Israelism’ which takes a deep dive into the growing American Jewish awareness of Israel Apartheid and analyzing the Zionist propaganda mechanisms in this country that try to combat Palestinian activism. The event will be preceded by a Q&A with the co-director of the film, Eric Axelman, who will be sharing insights into the filmmaking process and advice for advancing the Palestinian cause at Middlebury and beyond!

Permission to Converse: Laws, Violence, and Roadblocks to Palestinian Political Expression

Palestinians living on different sides of the Green Line make up approximately one-fifth of Israeli citizens and about four-fifths of the population of the West Bank. Activists in both groups assert that they share a single political struggle for national liberation. Yet, obstacles inhibit their ability to speak to each other and as a collective. Geopolitical boundaries fragment Palestinians into ever smaller groups.
