Lauren joined Middlebury College in June 2011. As SEVIS Coordinator, she supports ISSS operations both in Middlebury and in Monterey.

Lauren assists the ISSS team with processing visa related documents for our academic year and summer students, faculty, and staff.  She also supports our International Student Advisor based at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), a graduate school of Middlebury College. She is responsible for registering students who are in F-1 visa status in the U.S. government's Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). As a SEVIS Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), Lauren is authorized to give travel signatures on I-20s and DS-2019s.

With an interest in sustainability, Lauren is working to implement new documenting systems in an effort to use less paper in the office. She also works with various offices on campus, such as the Tax Office, to streamline and enhance our work processes.

Lauren earned degrees from North Carolina State University (Masters of International Studies, with a specialization in Global Environmental Policy and Sustainability) and Gettysburg College, PA (B.A. in International Affairs and German).  While at North Carolina State University, Lauren served as a graduate intern in the Study Abroad Office as the Global Perspectives Certificate (GPC) Coordinator where she managed the certificate process, tracked student progress, and advised students.  Before pursuing graduate school, Lauren worked at BMW of North America as an International Human Resources Specialist. Her role was to manage and support expatriates arriving from Germany until the end of their assignment in the United States.

Lauren has always had a passion for international education. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad in Germany and took part in the World Model United Nations conference in Mexico. She also participated in an Alternative Spring Break trip to Belize to work with cacao farmers and studied abroad in Costa Rica as a graduate student.

Lauren is originally from Paramus, New Jersey. She enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking with her dog, football, traveling, and learning new cultures and languages.
