Middlebury College International Student Organization
to Present Roundtable Discussion “China and Tibet” on
April 16
On Friday, April 16, the Middlebury College International
Student Organization (ISO) and the Middlebury College Geonomics
Center for International Studies will host a roundtable discussion
on China and Tibet at 7:30 p.m. in Gifford Annex Lounge, in Gifford
Dormitory, off College Street (Route 125). The event is free and
open to the public.
Four panelists will offer brief presentations for
discussion:
Losang Rabgey, a Tibetan scholar currently enrolled
in a doctoral program at the University of London, will present
“Chinese Racism and Colonialism.”
Thondup Tsering, a Tibetan scholar currently enrolled
in a doctoral program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst,
will present “Is Sino-Tibet Dialog a Possibility?”
Ke-Wen Wang, associate professor of history at St.
Michael’s College, will present “Tibet and Chinese Nationalism.”
Don Wyatt, professor of history at Middlebury College,
will present “Tibet and the Plight of Chinese Intellectuals.”
The roundtable will conclude with a question and
answer session. Refreshments will be provided.
