Frequently the news media come to us looking for an expert to interview. Other times -- as with this story in the New York Times -- we go to them and pitch a story idea about a course or a student or an interesting project. Either way, we are here to help forge those relationships with the media and the resulting exposure is great for helping to build and reinforce Middlebury's reputation.
“Faculty Experts” is an up-to-date, searchable resource that our office provides to reporters, producers, and others in the media.
We often revise the list depending on the topics that dominate the news, and we are always looking for willing participants who feel their areas of expertise are newsworthy.
We also have an on-site dedicated ISDN line and broadcast-quality recording space, called the “Whisper Room,” available in our offices, and we often use it to record both live and taped radio interviews.
If this is something you are interested in doing as a regular contact for the media, please let Sarah Ray (firstname.lastname@example.org or 443-5794) know.
