As the Director of Learning Spaces & Infrastructure, Bill Koulopoulos works closely with the Administration, ITS, Facilities, faculty and students to manage current infrastructure, identify needs and encourage innovation and growth.  He is ultimately responsible for the design of learning spaces on campus, such as active learning spaces and Middlebury’s Makerspace. As a member of the Advisory Group on Disability, Access and Inclusion, his work contributes to making Middlebury more accessible and inclusive. Finally, he works closely with the Center for Teaching, Learning & Research to design and facilitate professional development programming that focuses on the science of learning and the pedagogically sound use of technology in teaching and learning. His teaching philosophy is greatly influenced by Lev Vygotsky, Abraham Maslow and Robert Greenleaf.
Bill has 25+ years working in higher education and K-12. Before coming to Middlebury, he was at Columbia University serving as the project manager for the Shared Course Initiative that connects less-commonly-taught language classrooms at Columbia, Cornell, and Yale via high-definition videoconferencing.
Outside of work, Bill enjoys reading history books, skiing and traveling.
