Chaplain's Fund

Please Note:  Grant assistance through either the Chaplain’s Fund or the Fuel Assistance Program is considered taxable income and as such will be recorded as imputed employee income to ensure federal, state, Medicare and social security taxation. Also, applicants must have worked at the College for a minimum of one year to be eligible for assistance from the Chaplain’s Fund.

The Chaplain's Fund is a benefit available to regular part-time and full-time employees. To apply for assistance from the Chaplain's Fund, please fill out the application form and financial worksheet below and contact the Scott Center for Spiritual and Religious Life at 443-5626, or email

The Chaplain's Fund has been in existence since 1992.  It exists to issue one-time grants or loans to employees who are facing unforeseen financial emergencies.  Funds are issued to the employee's creditors/vendors, rather than directly to the employee.

The Chaplain's Fund budget can vary from year to year, as its primary funding source is the unspent money from the College's Flex Spending medical account which is rolled into the Chaplain's Fund at the end of March each year.  Any unspent Chaplain's Fund money is rolled into the next fiscal year.

Because of the limited availability of funds and because we are experiencing such an increase in applications, typical assistance generally runs between $500-$1,200.
