Strategic Advisory Team Charter

The purpose of the IT Strategic Advisory Team shall be to:

  • Discuss, review and recommend large-scale IT projects to the VPs and the President.
  • Provide constructive advice, feedback and direction to the AVP for IT.
  • Ask and brainstorm the following question:  

     How can technology be leveraged to offer Middlebury a strategic advantage as it relates to at least:

    • Innovation of the curriculum (e.g. on-line/distance learning; collaborative research; student and faculty creativity)
    • Operational efficiency, business intelligence, reporting
    • Marketing initiatives/reputation/visibility/recruiting
    • Collaboration/communication (internally and/or with constituents -- supporters, alumni, parents, prospects)
    • Enhancing the “Middlebury Experience” – for students, for faculty, for staff

All team members are encouraged and expected to think critically and creatively, share their ideas and raise appropriate questions and offer recommendations.  All team members will avoid conflicts of interest and are responsible for acting in the best interest of Middlebury.  Team members are expected to regularly attend meetings (scheduled quarterly) or to provide notice if they cannot attend.

The team will assess its performance in relation to this charter at least annually.
