Hepburn Hall

Sophomore & Upperclassmen Residence Hall

Brainerd Commons

Built in 1916, Hepburn Hall is a five-story residence hall in Brainerd Commons housing mainly sophomores and juniors. Hepburn Hall offers several study lounges, a large central lounge for Commons Council meetings, a classroom, and the production office for the student weekly newspaper, The Middlebury Campus.

Hepburn Hall was originally built of yellow brick (now painted gray), and it once housed former trustee Alonzo Hepburn's hunting trophies in the room above the lounge, called the Hepburn Zoo. Today, the Zoo is a black box theatre where many student productions take place each year.

Hepburn is in close proximity to Proctor Dining Hall and McCullough student center.  The nearest parking lot can be found in Ridgeline.
