In general, Title IX prohibits discrimination in educational programs on the basis of sex. Prohibited sex discrimination includes sexual harassment as defined by Middlebury’s Anti-Harassment/Discrimination Policy and sexual assault as defined by Middlebury’s Policy Against Sexual Misconduct, Domestic and Dating Violence and Misconduct, and Stalking ("SMDVS Policy"). The Title IX coordinator’s responsibilities include overseeing the process for handling all Title IX complaints and identifying and addressing any patterns or systemic problems that arise during the review of such complaints.
