Middlebury

Welcome to the Middlebury College Office of Health Professions. Our office offers a number of opportunities for you to prepare for a career in health professions. Our advisors are here to guide you and provide you with info sessions, opportunities, internships, and programs to help you explore your options. We hope this website, along with our BLOG will help support Middlebury students and alumna(e) in their application to professional school.

Advising

All Middlebury students and alumna(e) interested in Health Professions and STEM may schedule an appointment at any time regarding academic planning, internships and professional school applications with our Health Professions Advisors or the science faculty and their academic advisors. During orientation, first-year students will have an opportunity to meet with the Health Professions advisors at the Acadmic Forum. We advise students interested in Health Professions to join our mailing list for access to our newsletter, blog and coming events. The Office of Health Professions highly recommends that students explore their interests in greater depth by finding opportunities for community service and engaging in internships. In addition to a network of local volunteer opportunities, Middlebury has partnerships with Porter Hospital.

The Middlebury College Office of Health Professions assists any student or alumna(e) who is seeking admission to a program in the health professions. Each year 50-60 students go through our committee process and request committee letters as well as work closely with their Health Professions Advisor throughout the application process.

Organize

We hope that the information on this site will help Middlebury students and alumni/ae prepare for a successful application to a program in a health profession or allied health field.

If you are interested in becoming a medical practitioner in allopathic medicine (MD or DO), dentistry, veterinary medicine, or in allied health fields, here are steps to get you started:
  • Meet with the health professions advisor in CCI:  see the schedule and phone number at right.  Design a curricular program tailored to your individual interests.
  • Attend information meetings: Gain an overview of prerequisites for admission to health-profession schools; learn how to become a competitive candidate; discover the ins and outs of the application process. Check this web page throughout the semester for updates on the schedule for these meetings.
