The Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) is here to help you pursue your interests, gain real-world experience, and plan the road ahead. It's never too early to start exploring! Here's a sample of what you can look forward to this year with CCI:

  • Our Class of 2018 Open House: (Thursday, October 2, 3:00-5:00p.m.). Meet the staff and learn how a first-year can connect with CCI—treats provided!
  • Connect with Yasmeen, Tavic, or Carmina—our Peer Career Advisers—to get an experienced sophomore's take on internships, college resumes, campus activities, majors, and MOJO.
  • Quick Questions at CCI: Drop by any weekday between 1 and 3 p.m. for quick questions, tips on where to begin exploring options, and demonstrations of some of our great online resources.

Meet Your Peer Career Advisers (PCAs)!

These sophomores are ready to help you navigate your first year at Middlebury. Bring in your resume (or get help on starting one), ask about opportunities on campus and off-campus, and get helpful tips about your new life as a college student.

Yasmeen Byrnes '17

Hi! My name is Yasmeen Byrnes, and I'm a member of the class of 2017! I grew up in the suburbs of Maryland, near DC, so I am really enjoying Middlebury so far—especially the mountainous countryside and
snowy winters. I am currently on a pre-med track, but I also plan to major in math, because it's one of my favorite subjects!  On campus, I am involved with the sailing team and Midd Masti, the Bollywood dance group.  I also enjoy playing piano and spending time outside with friends.

Last year (my freshman year), I worked at the front desk at CCI, and I am excited to be a Peer Career Advisor this year. Middlebury's Center for Careers & Internships is a great resource for all students, from first years to senior Febs, and I'm looking forward to getting more involved!

Tavic Francis '17

Hello! My name is Tavic Francis and I’m from New York City. While I was born in Jamaica, I’ve lived in New York City for most of my life. I will be a Political Science major and French minor. Apart from working at CCI, I also work for the Admissions Office as tour guide coordinator and admissions student intern. I have also participated in organizations such as the Middlebury Model UN program. In my spare time, I love to read different types of literature as well as hang out with friends. I look forward to working with all of you at the Center for Careers & Internships!

Carmina Moorosi '17

Hello! My name is Carmina and I am a rising sophomore from the class of 2017. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, but have spent the last four years in the United States.

I am currently double-majoring in Political Science and Economics here at Middlebury, but my passion is languages, and I have most recently been focusing on French and Korean. This past year I was in the J-term musical, Les Misérables, and I am hoping to continue singing and acting this year. I am a part of the Middlebury College Women’s Rugby Club, and also enjoy playing violin when I have the time. I am looking forward to working at the CCI and meeting all of you!
