Janine Hetherington ’95, P’24 ’29 ’29 is a fundraising and nonprofit management professional with a passion for supporting access and inclusion in education. For over a decade, she has worked at Williams College, where she is a senior development officer and the director of women’s philanthropy. Her career in higher education administration began with work in career services and fundraising for Middlebury College, Simmons Graduate School of Management, and Tufts University. In 2001, she became the executive director of Lake Champlain Bikeways. She arrived in the Berkshires in 2005 as the director of institutional advancement for Pine Cobble School and then joined the development team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a leadership gifts officer. In addition to her work at Williams, she has served in various community fundraising and organizing roles. Ms. Hetherington serves as a Midd2Midd mentor, a head agent for her class, Reunion co-chair, and recently as president of the Middlebury Alumni Association. She is a voracious reader, an active outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing, hiking, yoga, and sailing on Lake Champlain, and whenever The Grift is playing she can be found on the dance floor. She’s the proud mom of five sons who, along with her husband Ben, keep her busy and smiling.
