Lisa van Santen ’00, P’29 brings an international perspective shaped by her experiences in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with longstanding interests in philanthropy, education, the arts, and community engagement.
Originally from the Netherlands, Lisa earned a BA in Art History and Architecture from Middlebury College after attending St Mary’s School, Calne, in the UK. She began her career at Condé Nast Traveller in New York before moving to London, where she worked in Bloomberg LP’s philanthropy division and later at the Reuben Foundation, supporting initiatives in education, community development, and public health.
More recently, Lisa has been actively involved with her children’s schools in London, giving her first-hand insight into the differing educational and philanthropic traditions of the UK and the US. Her experiences have fostered a deep appreciation for the role that engaged families, strong communities, and thoughtful philanthropy play in supporting educational excellence.
