Robert V. “Bob” Sideli ’77

Bob Sideli ’77 had a long career in the medical field, primarily in information technology, at several prominent hospitals and consulting firms, retiring in 2019 from Columbia University Medical Center. After earning a degree in chemistry from Middlebury, he studied medicine at the University of Rome, where he earned his medical degree. A dedicated community member, he has served on the New York City boards of Breaking Ground and Broadway Malls. Over the years he has remained closely connected to Middlebury, taking on roles as a lead class agent; alumni interviewer of prospective students; chair of the Annual Fund Executive Committee; and, for 10 years, member of the Middlebury Alumni Association board of directors, where he served as president. He is also a cofounding member of the Middlebury Alumni Lacrosse Club, which made its 25th appearance at the Vail Lacrosse Shootout Tournament in Vail, Colorado, in June 2023. In retirement, he is devoting himself to his passion for music, both singing and playing the piano. He performs regularly in the Bread Loaf Barn and recently stepped down as the president of the Westchester Chordsmen, a premier barbershop chorus.
