MIDDLEBURY,

VT - Middlebury College has named C. Drew Macan director

of human resources, effective Oct. 1. Macan has been acting

director since January 2001.

Macan has

more than 16 years of experience in human resources. She

joined the staff of Middlebury College as associate director

of human resources in 1999. Prior to her arrival at

Middlebury, she worked for Vermont Gas Systems, where she

was manager of human resources. She has also served as

director of human resources at Providence Health Plans in

Seattle, Wash., and as human resources staff officer at

Citibank in Oriskany, N.Y.

“Drew has

excellent qualifications that will serve her well as she

continues to manage this complex area of the College’s

operations,” said F. Robert Huth, Jr., Middlebury College

vice president for administration and treasurer.

A graduate

of The Pennsylvania State University, Macan earned a

master’s degree in organization and career development at

Vermont College. She is an active participant in community

service organizations, such as the Addison County Humane

Society, where she is a board member. She is also a member

of several professional associations, including the Society

for Human Resources Management, from which she received

lifetime certification as a senior professional in human

resources.
