MIDDLEBURY,
VT - Award-winning author Brock Clarke will read from his new unpublished
works of short fiction at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Middlebury
College. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place
in the Grand Salon of Le Château on Château Road off College
Street (Route 125).
Clarke
is the author of a novel, “The Ordinary White Boy” (Harcourt
Brace), published in 2001. His story collection, “What We Won’t Do”
(Sarabande Books), received the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction and
was published in 2002. Originally from upstate New York, he currently
lives in Ohio, where he is an assistant professor of English and creative
writing at the University of Cincinnati.
Clarke’s
fiction and nonfiction have appeared in a number of literary journals,
including New England Review, Mississippi Review, Georgia Review, Twentieth-Century
Literature, and South Carolina Review. He has received awards from the
Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and the
New York State Writers’ Institute.
