Middlebury College to Hold Halloween
Open House at Bicentennial Hall on Oct. 31
Middlebury College will hold a Halloween
open house at Bicentennial Hall, the College’s new science facility,
from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. The event will include guided
tours of the building by science students and faculty. Free and
open to the public, cider, doughnuts, and cookies will be served.
Trick-or-treat bags for children of all ages will also be available.
During the open house, visitors may
view a student research poster display in the Great Hall. Students
majoring in the sciences created the posters, which describe research
projects they undertook this past summer. These students will
be present during the display to discuss their research topics,
which range from mobile robot navigation to the genetic structure
of microorganisms that create dental cavities. Most of the projects
are funded by a major institutional grant from the Howard Hughes
Medical Institute.
Bicentennial Hall is on Bicentennial
Way, off College Street (Route 125). Contact
the public affairs office at 802-443-5198 for more information.
