David Cotner brings more than 30 years of experience in the athletic training profession to Middlebury College. Prior to coming to Middlebury, David worked the past ten years as the athletic trainer for The Very Nice Track Club, a group of elite middle distance runners of Olympians, world class and national class runners, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Prior to that he served as athletic trainer for the University of New England men’s ice hockey team competing in the frozen four for the first time in school history.  He has also worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for USA Hockey, National Team Development Program winning two world championships, as well as two NCAA Division I National Championships with Lake Superior State University men’s ice hockey team, and George Mason University Women’s Soccer team.

David holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Education from George Washington University.
