Max Mahoney-Garcia

My name is Max Mahoney-García (She/Her). I am an intern Therapist here at Middlebury I was raised in Annapolis, Maryland. I am mixed race, being Puerto Rican and of Celtic descent. I enjoy reading, art, spending time with my dog, and being out in nature. I worked previously at Williams College in Massachusetts and am getting my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. As an Expressive Arts Therapist I can integrate any creative expression into the therapeutic practice including music, reading/writing, visual arts, dance, drama. Or we can just sit and chat! 

I take a trauma informed, strengths based, person centered approach to my work, always with the understanding you are the expert on your life experiences. I work to identify inherent strengths that are unique to every individual. If you are interested, we can explore topics including identity, family, community, relationships, grief, focus, task management, career, mindfulness practices, and absolutely anything else you want to bring into sessions.
