Zahra Moeini Meybodi is the Associate Muslim Chaplain and Interfaith Advisor at Middlebury College. She has served as an educator in both the academic study of religion and spiritual life to audiences from various walks of life and traditions. She has also served as an organizer for the American Muslim student communities on campuses like the University of Chicago and beyond. She is deeply concerned and passionate about the intersections of education, spirituality and social action, especially on issues relating to racial and economic justice. She received her BA in Religious Studies from Hunter College CUNY, and her Masters from the University of Chicago’s Divinity School. Prior to joining Middlebury College, Zahra taught at Hunter College CUNY.
Beyond her roles as organizer and educator, Zahra enjoys cultivating her skills and knowledge of the fine arts and creative writing, as well as traveling and taking slow walks in nature.
For the Fall 2023 term, Zahra’s office hours are Mondays 10 am – 12 noon, and Thursdays 10 am – 12 noon, in the Crest Room of the McCullough Student Center.
