The class of 1976 is invited to the roof of Bicentennial Hall for stargazing with the faculty and staff of the Mittelman Observatory. Meet in the Great Hall in Bicentennial Hall after dinner to learn more about the Mittelman observatory (and get a sneak peek of the new Quantitative Center!) while waiting to visit the rooftop observation deck in small groups to observe the stars through various telescopes.

In addition, the dome telescope will also be available. Space is limited in the dome to small groups of six in 15-minute intervals. Those interested in visiting the dome in addition to the rooftop observation deck, must sign up for a time in your class lounge. Space is very limited and available on a first come-first served basis.

Important note: stargazing on the rooftop observation deck is accessible via an elevator. However, the dome telescope is only accessible via two sets of stairs. Stargazing on the rooftop and in the dome are weather-dependent and may be canceled if conditions aren’t favorable. If stargazing is canceled, guests are still invited to mingle with faculty and staff in the Great Hall from 9:00-10:00 PM.
