Vermont-born jazz guitarist Bob Gagnon began studying guitar in 1971 under the guidance of his father, guitarist Joe Gagnon. Bob grew up hearing and learning songs from the American songbook and went on to study jazz guitar and composition at Ithaca College. Bob returned to Vermont in 1987 to form the first version of the Bob Gagnon Trio. Since then, Bob has studied with Howard Alden and has added Django Reinhardt to his list of influences, which includes Barney Kessel and Bucky Pizzarelli. The current line-up of The Bob Gagnon Trio includes Nick Warner on bass and Bob Levinson on drums, who together add an element of funk to Bob’s traditional jazz approach.
