Scott Smith, Foreign Service Officer, U.S. Department of State
Scott Smith is a native of Indiana. He received his BA in Political Science, French, and Spanish, from Franklin College. After graduating, he spent four years in Japan on a sister-city exchange program. Scott returned to the U.S. to do his master’s in foreign service at Georgetown University. He joined the Foreign Service in 2002. He is a public diplomacy officer who has served in Colombia, Japan, Guatemala, and Washington, DC. In June, he will depart for his next overseas assignment - Bolivia, where he will serve as the embassy spokesman.
