Virtual Middlebury

Open to the Public

David Miranda Hardy, Department of Film and Media Culture, will give a talk as part of the 2020-21 Carol Rifelj Faculty Lecture Series. Cultural discussions about media representations of people with disabilities tend to either decry their absence in our narrative landscape or, when included, critique their misrepresentation. From narrative stereotypes to considerations about who should tell and embody these stories, David will discuss how these conversations were at the inception of the Chilean drama series Bala Loca, which he wrote and produced, and how they informed the creative and executive decisions that gave it shape.
