Deepest Yearnings of the Heart
The College Choir shares a program of European and American choral partsongs from the 17th to the 21st centuries, in which imagery of darkness and sunlight reveal the human need to express internal longing and to seek joy. Jeffrey Buettner conducts. The Middlebury College Community Chorus sings music that is focused on hunger and reflects the deepest yearnings of the human heart, including Renaissance polyphony, modern folk music, spirituals, and compositions by living composers. Ronnie Romano ‘20 conducts, with pianist Tim Guiles and cellist Chelsea Robinson ‘26.
This concert will also be streamed, with access to the performance stream available starting at showtime. https://www.youtube.com/@robisonhall
About streaming and sound: Our streams are meant to capture the “sound in the room” without post-production sound editing. Bear in mind the sound quality will not compare to a studio recording.
