Michael James Powers was appointed the Senior National Intelligence Officer for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and Counterproliferation within the FBI’s Directorate of Intelligence in January 2015. In this role, Mr. Powers leads the integration of strategic intelligence issues between the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) and FBI to better anticipate WMD counterterrorism and counterproliferation threats within the United States. He also serves as the FBI’s primary representative to the National Counterproliferation Center and the Office of the National Intelligence Officer for WMD and Counterproliferation on strategic intelligence collection and analysis matters.
