Dr. Robert Edwards traces the meteoric rise of Pedro de Lemos from the son of an immigrant cobbler to a nationally acclaimed artist, educator, author, designer, and administrator. Special emphasis will be placed on the artist’s unique methodology for “art creation” and on his Modernist approach to color and composition. Julianne Burton-Carvajal will be signing copies of Pedro de Lemos: Lasting Impressions: Works on Paper, 1910-1945, will follow the presentation.

The presentation and lecture series have been made possible through the generous commitment of the Marci F. DeVoe fund (underwriting the lectures series for the next three years) as well as Old Monterey Foundation’s sponsorship.
