Virtual Middlebury

The Sept. 22nd “Executive Order Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping” signed by President Trump prohibits anti-racist and anti-sexist training among federal agencies, contractors and grantees, and even directs the Attorney General to review whether such education and training would violate the Civil Rights Act as “contributing to a hostile work environment.” In so doing, it wraps white supremacist policy in the language of equality. Come discuss the impacts and implications of this order, and deconstruct its language, in a discussion with Renee Wells, Director of Education for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Jason Duquette-Hoffman, CCE Assistant Director for the Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster.
