“The importance of wildland forests for climate resilience and human health”

A multi-pronged case for increasing the pace and scale of rewilding. Dr. Susan Masino, Vernon D. Roosa Professor of Applied Science at Trinity College, and Dr. Ed Faison, Senior Ecologist, Highstead Foundation have collectively authored several of the most significant papers on forest management in the last five years. Their seminal 2019 paper coined the term “proforestation,” and has been cited around the globe. A new paper last year strengthened the rationale for “proforestation” at a grand scale across the US. Bill Moomaw is one of the world’s leading experts on forest carbon. Susan Masino is an expert on public health implications of land management decisions. And Ed Faison is one of New England’s leading forest ecologists
