Info Session

Students should attend the Information Table or Recruiter in Residence to sign up for an interview. The Fund for the Public Interest is a national effort to build support for environmental and progressive organizations across the country. We run campaigns for the Sierra Club, the Human Rights Campaign and Environment America. This summer we’ll be operating campaigns in over 60 cities, working with the Sierra Club to ban mountain top removal, Environment America to build public support for solutions to global warming pollution, and the Human Rights Campaign to win equal rights for people regardless of sexual orientation, just to name a few. We currently have paid positions open on our staff in each of the 60 offices across the country. We require that interested candidates are hard workers and have excellent communications skills. Students will have the opportunity to educate and activate citizens on pressing environmental issues, organize press conferences, and build coalitions with other non-profit environmental and public health organizations. Through holding such responsibilities, students gain knowledge of pressing environmental concerns, learn how to effectively generate public support, and obtain a firm understanding of the political process.
