Gay and Co. is presenting a screening of the film “God Loves Uganda”. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and opened this weekend in New York and Los Angeles to rave reviews. It is being screened around the country by universities, student organizations and churches and will be released theatrically in 2014. The feature-length documentary “God Loves Uganda” is a powerful exploration of the evangelical campaign to change African culture with values imported from America’s Christian Right. It specifically examines the role of American evangelical churches in the crafting of legislation targeting the LGBTQ community in Uganda. The screening will be followed by a discussion with an international LGBT Activist about the current situation facing this community in Africa. After the screening and discussion there will be a reception in the McCone Upper Atrium. The event will take place from 6-8:30 on Tuesday, November 12th, 2013. There will be a suggested donation of $5 with student ID and $10 for community member.
