ENVS 0401 B Community Engaged Environmental Studies Practicum Presentations: What Next?
What Next? In January 2005, 120 attendees gathered at Middlebury for the three-day What Works? conference, during whichstudents took the lead on the opportunities for building a new climate movement, which led to the founding of the Sunday Night (Environmental) Group (SNEG). In this ES401 section, we partnered with four Vermont-based organizations, reviewed the successes and failures of 20 years of movement building, globally and locally, and then asked how the movement can move forward during these tumultuous times. Our community partners represent organizations working to combine research, communications, public engagement, and policy advocacy to ensure Vermont achieves the needed reductions in planet-warming pollution, creates equitable clean energy solutions, and fosters thriving communities that support and serve all Vermonters.
