Join us for a multi-dimensional exploration of basketball, President Barack Obama, and American culture, politics, and society. Alex Wolff, author of The Audacity of Hoop: Basketball and the Age of Obama, will open the session with a presentation highlighting key themes from his new book. This will be followed by commentaries from Matt Dickinson, Professor of Political Science; Claude Johnson, founder of Baller-in-chief.com, and an independent scholar on early African-American basketball; Rachael Joo, Assistant Professor of American Studies; and Jim Ralph, Professor of American History. Members of the audience will then be invited to ask questions and offer their own perspectives.
