Overland hires exceptional college students and recent college graduates to lead students in 4th-12th grade on hiking, biking, language, writing and service-learning programs. Leaders act as role models for students and create wholesome and supportive environments where every student can flourish. Our staff of over 200 leaders and support staff spend 10 days training and six weeks leading or supporting programs throughout the summer. Small groups, carefully crafted programs and inspiring leadership have been at the heart of what we do for the past 33 years.
• 52 itineraries, 20 countries, 5 continents: that’s a lot of adventure. But leading for Overland is more about the people who surround you—the dynamic leaders you work with and the great kids you lead—and the many challenges that you tackle together.
• An Overland leader’s commitments are many, but nothing is as important as your kids and your co-leader. No matter where you are, no matter what you’re doing, your most important commitment is the health and well-being of your kids and your co-leader.
• In the end, leading for Overland is far greater than the sum of its parts. There’s exciting adventure, great people, important commitments, endless challenges, an inclusive community and a vibrant network.
