Lavender Graduations are celebrated across the nation at other higher education institutions to honor the achievements of graduating LGBTQIA+ students, and we are delighted to bring that tradition to Middlebury.
Middlebury’s inaugural Lavender Graduation ceremony aims to recognize and celebrate the experience of graduating LGBTQIA+ students and soon-to-be alumni. Lavender Graduation is open to all graduating LGBTQIA+ students—whether they have been involved in LGBTQIA+ student organizations or with the broader LGBTQIA+ community. This ceremony is intended to be a reclamation of Middlebury as their own—a final ode to their perseverance, achievements, and explorations as LGBTQIA+ Middlebury students.
Middlebury’s inaugural Lavender Graduation will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 6pm in Wilson Hall. Please contact Janae Due, assistant director of the Anderson Freeman Resource Center, with your questions at jdue@middlebury.edu.
