In the past few years, Japanese anime has become part of western pop culture. A growing number of people are realizing that anime is not a genre like western animation, but rather an artistic format to tell an array of different stories. I have created a three-part series where I have rewritten the music for three different anime scenes. Each scene has a different setting in tone, starting with a nature/wholesome scene, moving to a cynical death scene, and ending on a fight scene. This presentation will a combination of an introduction of the project, my choices, and my writing process, presenting my animations with my music, and finally answering questions.

This event is open to Middlebury College students, faculty, and staff.
