Pohela Boishakh, the first day of the Bengali calendar, is a national festival in Bangladesh, celebrated with unparalleled enthusiasm, especially in Dhaka. It marks a fresh start, a time for reflection and new beginnings, embodying the spirit of Bengali nationalism and cultural pride. Historically, it’s rooted in agricultural traditions, signifying the start of the harvest season, but today, its significance extends far beyond that. The day is observed with colorful processions, folk songs, and traditional performances.
