This is a simple class about returning to simplicity. It is about relaxing the mind and energizing the body. “Qigong” is the general name for a diverse set of practices that are rooted in the worldview of Chinese Medicine and have been utilized for thousands of years to reclaim balance and tranquility within. Using the classical forms of the Eight-Piece Brocade and the Five Animal Frolics, some basic movements from Tai Chi Chuan, and various breathing exercises, this class will teach the fundamentals of meditation and self-healing, Chinese style. No prior experience is necessary and absolutely anyone can learn.

Christopher Kiely began his study of Tai Chi Chuan more than 20 years ago with one of the world’s foremost teachers, Master Tung Kaiying. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Chinese Medicine in 2001, opened up a private practice in Bristol, Vt., and began teaching his first weekly Tai Chi classes the following year. He has been diligently training, practicing, and teaching throughout Addison County ever since. Learn more here.
