Screening and panel discussion of the documentary Resilience, which explores the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), experiences of extreme stress or trauma that have been linked to lasting negative effects on a child’s development and serious health risks later in life. The film offers hope that awareness of ACEs can lead to a greater investment in screening, prevention, and treatment.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Donna Bailey, Co-Director of the Parent Child Center, Dr. Jody Brakeley, MD, pediatrician at the Child Development Clinic of Vermont, and Professor Rob Moeller (Psychology).
Co-sponsored by Building Bright Futures, Integrating Family Services, MiniBury.com, DREAM, Community Friends, and the Center for Community Engagement.
