Student Investment Committee speaker series: Portfolio Management 101 by Sanjeev Handa
Student Investment Committee has invited Sanjeev Handa, a very experienced portfolio manager, to talk about the components of the portfolio creation and management process.
This topic relates to everyone, regardless of your major because investing for the future is an important part of all our financial lives. Mr. Handa will discuss risk preferences and types of portfolios, trade offs between risk and return and the process of constructing portfolio with varying levels of risk. Mr. Handa will also touch upon the internship/job opportunities in the industry.
Sanjeev Handa has 28 years of experience of working in the financial services industry. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at TIAA-CREF, where he was responsible for their structured finance and asset backed securities portfolio. TIAA-CREF is one of the largest and most respected global fund managers with over $34 billion under management. He currently serves as a board member for several non profit organizations as well as Fitch Ratings. This talk will be a great opportunity to learn about investing and to network with a very experienced professional.
