The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Califnornia State University, Monterey Bay, presents Understanding ISIS.
The Islamic State, or ISIS, has been responsible for some of the most atrocious war crimes and human rights abuses of this century. But what exactly is ISIS? How did it emerge? What are its goals and what kind of threat does it pose to the United States? This talk will answer these and other questions, with a focus on how the United States should counter terrorist
movements like this today and in the future.
Admission for the general public is $10.
Admission is free for interested MIIS faculty, students, and staff with current school ID.
