Guest Speaker: Jolynn Shoemaker

Jolynn Shoemaker is a recognized peace and security policy thinker, global women’s leadership expert, and experienced non-profit leader. She consults to non-profit organizations, with a specific focus on women, peace, and security and peacebuilding and serves on boards and in advisory capacities of several non-profit organizations and groups, including the Advisory Committee for the West Coast chapter of WIIS (WIIS-West). She is a Non-Resident Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and she works with several consortia of consultants, who are focused on global diversity and on peace and security issues. Ms. Shoemaker has conceptualized and implemented hundreds of high-level events and professional development programs, and has produced groundbreaking research on women’s leadership. She has published extensively on women and gender in international peace and security and in the workplace, and has provided commentary in various print and broadcast media outlets. She excels in mentoring and supporting young talent, and she is an expert at connecting like-minded individuals, organizations, and initiatives, and forging partnerships and collaborations across sectors.
