In Don Taylor’s new translation of Euripides’ classic tragedy, women survivors wait to be shipped abroad from the industrial port of a war-torn city. Officials come and go. A grandmother, once queen, watches as her remaining family is taken from her one by one. The city burns around them. First performed in 415 BC, this lyrical poem of grief and savage irony is as relevant today as it was then. Directed by Vanessa Mildenberg. Sponsored by the Theatre Program. Tickets: $12/10/6; on sale April 17
