Close up of a person wearing red gloves and holding a fan

Play by Sarah Ruhl, adapted from the original by Virginia Woolf. Directed by Claudio Medeiros.

A young nobleman is drawn into a love affair with Queen Elizabeth I. For a time, life at court is interesting enough, but Orlando yearns for something more. As he strives to make his way as a poet and lover, his travels keep him at the heart of a dazzling tale where gender and desire shift regularly. One day, after sleeping many hours, he wakes to find out that he is now a woman. A dreamy adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s famous tale, Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando is a magical and poetic dance across the gender spectrum and through time. It is the story of a being who lives outside expectations, and enjoys twice the manifold thrills that love has to offer.

Performances May 2-4 at 7:30pm. Please join us for a lively post-show talk back and discussion following the Friday evening performance.
