The Many Sides of History: Reflections on The Vietnam War
A conversation with filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, and Vietnam veteran Mike Heaney ’64

Join documentary filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, along with Middlebury alumnus and Vietnam veteran Mike Heaney ’64, for a panel discussion about their recent film The Vietnam War. The event will begin with a brief screening of clips from the film followed by a discussion moderated by Rehnquist Professor of American History & Culture Jim Ralph.

Ecumenical Christian service. All are welcome to join the Alumni Choir. No prior experience is required. Rehearsals are Saturday morning from 8:00-9:15 and Sunday morning from 8:45-9:45 in Mead Chapel, prior to the 10:00 a.m. service.

Snow Bowl Family Bash

Come on up to the Snow Bowl on Fall Family Weekend for some lift rides, live music, and BBQ. This year we’re partnering with the Middlebury Carbon Pricing initiative in order to spread the word about what we can do to lower carbon emissions in Vermont. There will be a Carbon Pricing Education Booth so make sure to stop by and talk to the experts! All proceeds go straight back to the Middlebury Ski Patrol and the Middlebury Snow Bowl! Lift rides are $3 for students and children and $5 for adults. BBQ lunches are $8.

Come to the awards ceremony for the Paul W. Ward ’25 Memorial Prize in writing for the Class of 2019. The prize recognizes those second-year students who the faculty judge to have produced outstanding essays in writing classes during their first year. Refreshments will be served.
